In preparing for the paschal mystery of Christ within the Holy Week, the Catholic Church in Keta-Akatsi Diocese gathered together at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Abor for the celebration of mass of Chrism on Wednesday, the 28th of March, 2018. the Holy mass was presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese Most Rev.Gabriel Edoe Kumordji (SVD) and con-celebrated by the Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese Most Rev. Anthony K. Adanuty and over fifty-three (53) Diocesan Priests and Six(6) religious Priests from the Congregations of Servant of charity and Comboni respectively. In the Homily, the Bishop stressed the need for all Catholics to place value on the Sacramental of oil and not to abuse their usage. He pointed out the uncountable number of oils in Christian Churches today and advised Catholics to rely on the three oils of the Church ie the oils of Catechumen, the sick and Chrism.
The Chrism mass offered the opportunity to all Priests to renew their priestly vows and rededicate themselves to Pastoral ministry of the faithful.
In attendance were the religious sisters of the congregation of Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church(SMMC) and uncountable number of the faithful from across the Diocese.The Parish Choir was fully represented in the Liturgy.
